Walter Eduardo Meneses starts his career in Marketing Research in Lima, Peru in 1975, after graduating from the University Inca Garcilazo de la Vega. Since then, Mr. Meneses has conducted qualitative and quantitative research through Latin American markets. In 1978 Mr. Meneses moved to the United States to continue his education at the University of Reno Nevada and enrolled in the Master Program. In 1980, after the results of the US Census were 14 million plus of self-identified Hispanic/Latinos caught the eyes of marketers as an emerging market. Currently (2018), the Hispanic/Latino population overpass 70 million consumers (and 1.5 Trillion as Purchasing Power), and the projection is by the year 2025 will reach 100 million.
The Hispanic/Latino consumer is unique compared with other immigration waves because they want to keep their culture and tradition, at the same time embrace the American culture, not assimilating totally but creating a unique segment that if we compare with language will be called "Spanglish".
